DJ ISHE @ HOT 107'S TRICK OR BASS at GOTHIC THEATRE | FRI, 10/12/12
DJ Ishe (aka Nate Lappegaard) has been making music longer than most of his fans have been alive. Nearing his two-decade mark as a DJ, Ishe is one of the underdog producers in Denver who's helped propel the dubstep scene, and he's done so by keeping true to himself and true to his music. Catch the local dubstep powerhouse tonight at Hot 107.1's Trick Or Bass at the Gothic Theatre with KDrew and Dirtmonkey, and keep reading for more on your weekend's best dance music, including Guy Gerber, Peaches, Up Until Now and much more.

GUY GERBER @ BETA | SAT, 10/13/12
Guy Gerber does things his own way. When he released a Fabric album earlier this year, instead of mixing popular or up-and-coming tunes from other artists, he created sixteen of his own tracks to weave into a set. The Israel native was on his country's national under-sixteen soccer team as a youth, but the game couldn't compete with the appeal Gerber found in acts like My Bloody Valentine and Joy Division; even now, his soaring synth lines, techy beats and gorgeous instrumentals (some of which are played by Gerber himself) are introspective and shoegaze-touched. He plays the bass guitar on his latest release, "Steady," dropped just this month, and he's currently collaborating with P. Diddy on an underground project titled 11:11. Catch him at Beta on Saturday, October 13, fresh from a hot summer in Europe.

UP UNTIL NOW @ SONIC BLOSSOM at CERVANTES | FRI, 10/12/12
Making its third Denver appearance this year, Up Until Now, the livetronic offspring of Jay Murphy, is returning for Euphonic Conceptions' semi-annual Sonic Blossom festival, with support from Jay's brother David Murphy of Sound Tribe Sector 9 and Jon "The Barber" Gutwillig of the Disco Biscuits. Blending reggae, electronic, hip-hop and other worldly genres, Up Until Now delivers a show that can go in any direction -- and with the addition of Murph and Barber's heavy musical muscle, this performance should be dripping with live jamming.

PEACHES @ SUMMIT MUSIC HALL | SAT, 10/13/12
No one knows how to push buttons quite like Peaches. Whether she's writing and directing her own autobiographical musical or organizing a Free Pussy Riot campaign, this electro-punk (aka Merrill Nisker) is always a few steps ahead of even the most radical of sex-positive visionaries.
