Dizaster on his controversial battle with Arcane

Categories: Interviews

How much do you know about your next opponent, Detour, whom you're set to battle March 30 in Denver?

Don't know shit. Don't give a fuck bout him. I don't know shit, and I don't give a flying fuck. Don't care to know anything about him. He is not a high-profile battler, so I don't need to know about him. I'm going there to rap. That's it.

I saw that you are headed out on a bit of a tour around the world.

We been around the world. Just got home from Australia today. I'll be in Denver this weekend, then I'll be in Philippines, then Sweden, then back to California, then to New York. That's the schedule. It's solid. Then after that, we don't know. We'll figure it out.

How do you think leagues like KOTD and so forth have really helped the progression of battle rap?

It's helped a lot, honestly. It basically all about consistency and bringing those big match-ups together. So leagues like King of the Dot have constantly brought entertaining shit to the table, shit that people want to see. The battles are always getting better. As long as we don't go backwards, it's always going to blow up and get bigger. They are doing a great job.

Did you feel a shred of sympathy when you saw a so-called legend in Canibus?

There was a lot of sympathy involved. I didn't feel too good about it at the time, but it's whatever. It is what it is. I had sympathy in the moment, but I don't now, I'll tell you that.

How do you see the progression of battle rap, and what do you think it is going to take to push battling to the next level?

Honestly, as of right now, I think it's going to get bigger, and right now, it just needs structure and more funding.

Who do you want to battle most in the world right now?

I hate that question. I don't really know, man. I don't even know how to answer that. I'm not sure. I just don't give a flying fuck right now. Arsonal or T-Rex? I'm going to kill somebody.

Were you shocked that KOTD let Arcane win with the raps you claim he bought?

I don't know if I was shocked, but I felt bad for them. I felt bad for Organik because, even though he bought rhymes, there were a lot of people who thought I got robbed. It was a sad day for them. The chain has way less value, and that's the most views they ever had. I felt bad for them because now their champion is Arcane.
