Oak Tavern and 24K both closed

Nearly four years after transforming the Monarck into the Oak Tavern, Lotus Concepts' Francois Safieddine has closed the venue and his 24K club upstairs last weekend. Paulina Szafranski, president of marketing for Lotus, says that Safieddine, who owns the building at 1416 Market Street, doesn't have any plans for the space at this time. "We have our hands full with View House, Suite Two Hundred and Chloe," Szafranski says. "So I think it was a logical move just to kind of let it run its course."

Don't get me wrong: these places had the societal value of the gum stuck to the sidewalk inside their rope line, but what's the business impetus for closing these bars during peak summer months?

Is it to funnel more business to Chloe, so their mouth-breathing bouncers don't have to desperately ask me to come in as I walk by anymore?

Nope! They were overpriced juke joints selling vodka lemonades to date raping creeps from the suburbs.

Hated 24K. Spent a small fortune for bottle service & got shitty service.

No. They were run horribly. Then again, I don't like pretentious spots that over serve their already pretentious customers. I got the best idea for a revamp, I don't give it away for free tho.
