After eight years at 1512 Larimer Street, Tryst is set to reopen next week a block west at 1320 15th Street in the former Mix Music Lounge location between the Drink and Chances. In honor of the occasion, Tryst is hosting a pre-party on Friday, July 19, from 8 to 10 p.m. for anyone who "likes" the lounge's Facebook page. There's also a pre-party on Saturday, July 20, from 8 to 10 p.m. with the Collective, and both nights will be open to the public starting at 10 p.m.

Most recently, Tryst founder Paul Piciocchi was set to take over the club section of Jet Hotel, a venture he says he's no longer involved in. For his part, Piciocchi is no stranger to change. Change, in fact, has been a constant for the club owner.

Tryst itself has gone through a couple of iterations, and in late 2009, Piciocchi opened the Drink, Mix Music Lounge, and Rack & Rye, and he later moved Chances from its original location at 1135 Bannock Street into the Rack & Rye space, which was housed in the former Alto space. (Roosevelt & Co. cocktail lounge is slated to go into the former Tryst location on Larimer Street, but there's no word yet on when it will open.)

"The move was primarily to move Tryst to a busier corner," says Tryst managing partner Tim Chladek. "The new Tryst is the same vision of the Tryst that opened eight years ago. Over the last eight years, it got away from some of the key focus points, and we really want to bring it back to its original glory. It will be an upscale cocktail lounge focusing on a female-friendly cocktail, wine and champagne list."

According to Chladek, some of those cocktails will include drinks like Key Lime Pie (Svedka Vanilla Vodka, Don Q Coconut, lime and pineapple
juice, graham cracker rim), Almond Joy (Ty Ku Coconut Sake, Dorda Chocolate Liqueur, crushed-
almond rim), Spa Day (a low-calorie cocktail that includes Skinnygirl Cucumber Vodka,
muddled cucumbers, fresh lime juice and a splash of soda) and El Melon (Agave Underground Silver Tequila, watermelon puree, agave nectar, lime juice, mint leaf garnish).

Chladek also says Flavorful Tuesdays ladies' night will offer 31 unique flavors of vodka free to all ladies until 11 p.m., while guys get doubles for the price of singles during the same time. Philanthropic Friday happy hours, from 5 to 8 p.m., will feature two guest bartenders each week, and Tryst will donate a percentage of the bar, all of the tips and a $5 suggested door donation to a charity of its choice.
