ANNA LUNOE @ NORAD | FRI, 8/2/13
Australian rising star Anna Lunoe has only been working her craft stateside for about a year, but she's already made a name for herself in this country. After dabbling in the radio-DJ lifestyle, she started spinning hip-hop and indie tunes in venues before expanding her reach; her early experiences digging through bargain-bins at the local music store gave her an appreciation for a wide range of genres, so her current eclectic sound, which mixes elements of house, garage and bass-oriented electronica, was a natural progression.

ANNA LUNOE @ NORAD | FRI, 8/2/13
Lunoe has also made a distinct impression as a producer, creating tracks that incorporate her own vocals that have crawled up the Beatport rankings. As a set-spinner, she starts the energy off high and then keeps upping the ante, mixing insistent drumlines with sassy melodies and tempering both with her use of bass. You can see for yourself when she joins Bag Raiders and option4 at NORAD this Friday, August 2. (9 p.m., 21+, $20-$25)

THIEVERY CORPORATION @ RED ROCKS | SAT, 8/3/13
In 1995, Rob Garza and Eric Hilton came together to form Thievery Corporation, an outfit that blends electronica with dub, jazz and bossa nova sounds to create a groovy tribal sound with Middle Eastern and Brazilian undertones. The pair's mid-tempo music, which falls somewhere between acid jazz and trip-hop, has appeared on the illustrious Kruder & Dorfmeister's DJ-Kicks series. Additionally, the act has welcomed such guest vocalists as Wayne Coyne of the Flaming Lips, Perry Farrell of Jane's Addiction and Iranian-born diva Loulou Ghelichkhani. Thievery's latest album, Culture of Fear, issued in 2011, might be its best effort yet. Catch the duo with multiple guests when they play at Red Rocks with Toro y Moi and Art Department. (6:30 p.m., all ages, $55.35)

LA RIOTS @ BETA | SAT, 8/3/13
LA Riots has served as the introduction to a lot of acts for people because their remix game is on point, and this often means the finished products are often masterpieces in their own way, completely outside of the original artist's work. The beats are big, the samples are delicately placed, retaining the original flavor while still showing that LA Riots could easily produce without them. Don't miss experiencing some proper house music in one of the hottest clubs in America. -- Britt Chester

Z-TRIP @ CERVANTES MASTERPIECE BALLROOM | SAT, 8/3/13
Z-Trip is arguably the best of the best when it come to deejaying, and he's got a Rane mixer with his name on it to prove. Jumping in and out of every single genre under the sun, Z-Trip flawlessly destroys every set he plays with unique fervor, and on this night, he's got QBert and Mu$a supporting him. This night will be dedicated to solid hip-hop, soul and the foundations of the artistry of deejaying. -- Chester
