The best EDM in Denver this weekend
FRIDAY | TALE OF US at CLUSTER STUDIOS | 10/25/13
"Epic" is a word that gets thrown around so much it's practically lost its meaning. Yet in the case of Tale of Us, it's one of the few descriptors appropriate to what the Italian duo creates on stage. Carmine Conte and Matteo Milleri, the legends behind the Life and Death record label, are known for creating cutting-edge tracks and delivering irresistible live sets that showcase their impeccable taste with gorgeous, innovative track selection and seamless blending. Tale of Us is slated to play a special extended set on Friday, October 25, at a to-be-announced warehouse location, courtesy of Afterhours Anonymous.

FRIDAY | PENDULUM (DJ SET) at BETA | 10/25/13
Formed in 2002 in Perth, Australia, it didn't take long for the now-U.K.-based Pendulum to garner notice from drum-and-bass lovers around the world. One of the group's first releases, "Vault," was used on a mix album by drum-and-bass guru J Majik, and Pendulum has since remixed tracks for the Prodigy and opened concerts for Linkin Park. Originally comprising Rob Swire, Gareth McGrillen and Paul Harding, the act has changed its shape and sound over the past decade. With Ben Mount, Peredur ap Gwynedd and Kevin Sawka on board, the music has evolved from drum-and-bass to today's fusion of heavy metal and electronica, and many of the band's sets now include live instrumentation. The overall sound remains aggressive, brash and energetic; it's like industrial metal with drum-and-bass (and now, of course, dubstep) influences. (9 p.m., 18+, $15)
