Thanks to everybody else for the entries. Keep it locked on Backbeat for more great giveaways. Next week, we've got a great Mazzy Star giveaway!

After decades as a legendary dive, the Old Curtis Street Tavern closed last January. It's since been reborn as the Curtis Club, a sleek, old West-styled gastro-pub with a contemporary menu of locally-sourced products. Owner Scott Bagus, a veteran of the Denver music scene as a member of Moccasin/Nightingale, and chef Eric Johnson celebrated with a soft opening last Friday that was so hot the fire department came. And tonight's grand opening should be hotter still, with a functioning kitchen, full menu, live music -- and the possibility of you front and center for the 10:30 p.m. show of Mile High Soul, with $50 in food and drink credits. The Curtis Club is saving a table with your name on it for 9 p.m. -- if you win, that is. Continue on to enter for a chance to win.

My best memories of Old Curtis Street bar would be the numerous times I've shared the stage with so many wonderful local bands and DJs' who have all contributed to making this city such a wonderful vibrant place. Metal shows, noise shows, disco-house dance events, glitch, electronic, music festivals and parties. So many good times. Analog Space crew was always accommodated by the wonderful owners. I'm extremely happy for Scott who has also always been a long time denizen of the area for keeping it local and adding yet another outpost to this thriving area. Cheers.

The very last show, the very last night at Old Curtis Street, was the last time I kissed the last person I loved.

Boo hoo, wah wah, and all that.

best memory: riding our bikes to the bar to see my friend's band play. contact me at
