Wisdom from Paramore's Hayley Williams on womanhood and the overrated rock star life

Paramore is back and busier than ever. The band just completed its first destination cruise with fans (cleverly dubbed Parahoy!), which included four days and nights aboard the Norwegian Pearl, sailing from Miami to Great Stirrup Cay in the Bahamas.

Fans enjoyed two outdoor shows by Paramore, a Q&A on the cruise ship's deck, and myriad onboard activities while sailing to the Bahamas. Other acts included Tegan and Sara and New Found Glory. Next, Paramore will prepare for a joint summer tour with Fall Out Boy, which kicks off on June 19 and hits Red Rocks on August 12.

The five best local musical missed connections on Craigslist, illustrated for your amusement

The Ogden. 3/1 (Denver)
This is for the guy with the long hair at the Griz show near the bar. I don't know who you are but the odor that was emitting from your hair was horrendous. I can't not even begin to explain how bad you smell. This wasn't just a few days without washing your hair, this was almost as if you straigtened your greasy locks with two hot, spoiled onions. It usually doesn't bother me if someone smells but the fact that your proceeded to whip your hair around like an idiot caused the smell to woft to three innocent bystanders (my friends and I). So I beg of you, please shower, shave or head, or do something to reduce the musty scent of your hair as that should be a crime against humanity.

The ten traits of the perfect frontperson

030513_frontperson-head.jpg

The best frontmen and -women all have something in common. Whether it's their ability to connect with a crowd or the swagger with which they carry themselves, their fashion sense, the intrigue that surrounds them or their reckless disregard for their own well-being, they all have that ineffable "it" factor. We recently conducted a highly scientific examination of a host of individual performances, and we took the data we gleaned from that analysis and combined it with our own anecdotal observations over the years and came up with the ten traits of the perfect frontperson. Keep reading to see what they are.

Keep reading to see if you recognize any of the newbies and feel free to let us know if there's still some we missed. We're already planning another edition featuring the Human Metronome (genius!).

Craigslist is a place where weirdos and miscellaneous miscreants alike can convene in the relative privacy of anonymity without the prying and scrutinizing eye of the public -- well, except for the fact that we're all voyeurs who stalk the web round-the-clock for the latest absurdity to distract us from the soul crushing realities of our everyday lives. Amirite? And everybody knows there's no place better to find such fodder than missed connections. The ten biggest concert buzzkills

All illustrations by Noah Van Sciver

As vastly different as our tastes are when it comes to music, there's one thing we can all agree on, and that's our distaste for and subsequent amusement/bemusement/resentment with certain individuals who insist on behaving badly at shows. You know who we're talking about. The Talker, universally loathed by everyone, and there's The Setlist Adviser, The Overserved, The Show-off, The Director. Not that we're judging here or anything. God knows we've all broken at least one of these supposed rules of rock. Have you? Check out our field guide of the ten biggest concert buzz killers to find out.
