A couple of days ago, we posted the first track from Spoke In Wordz forthcoming effort Power of Wordz and speculated that it has all the trappings to be a heater. Suspicions confirmed. We've come across three more tracks, and they're all bangers. Spoke doesn't mince words on the first one, "Personality Countless," featuring Nation and FOE, as he spits lines like, "I'm held down 'cause these record labels ain't feeling me/Fuck them, let 'em run this game to ground/I could give a fuck about five mikes and who's holding the crown/It's a warzone and nobody's fighting the cause/Knew something was wrong when they picked Lil Wayne over Nas." This Friday, October 1, at the Gothic Theatre, Air Dubai is releasing Wonder Age, its brand-new album, in the company of the Heyday, which is also dropping its latest platter that evening, Bop Skizzum and Places. We've had the pleasure of listening to Wonder Age for the past month or so, and let's just say that it's in contention for one of our favorite releases this year.

As you'll read in Jon Solomon's profile of Air Dubai in this week's issue, the bandmembers were all set to release an EP they had recorded earlier this summer at Colorado Sound with JP Manza (Epilogues, Vonnegut) when Flobots guitarist Andy Guerrero convinced them to head up to the Blasting Room in Fort Collins to record a full-length.

So we've been hearing about this project for quite some time now, and we've been eagerly following its progress on Twitter every day via updates from its co-stars, King F.O.E. and Whygee.

The project intrigued us for a variety of reasons, the biggest one of which perhaps was that it marked the first recorded collaboration between these two titans of hip-hop in Denver, who each received nods from us last year in our Best of Denver issue as the Best Rapper East of Colorado Boulevard and the Best Rapper West of Colorado Boulevard, respectively.

Turf boss DJ KTone and young star Rockie recently dropped Barcode 2, the much anticipated follow up to the first Barcode installment. A mixtape designed to show the versatility and growth in Rockies flow, Barcode 2 finds the young MC smashing the chosen beats into pieces.

The features from Mr. Midas, Pries, Fedarro and vocal rips from Trey Songz and Lil Bill on Barcode 2 enhance both Rockie's story telling ability and confidence. On the point of experience alone, Mr. Midas almost walks away with "Nasty," a collar popping, two-stepping track describing the two with euphemism as magnets for the opposite sex.
