Incredibly, the Harlem Shake is still a thing. I know, right? It's so played out at this point that "Gangnam Style" seems fresh. Be that as it may, the beloved Nuggets have posted a version of the meme that's worth noting if simply because it stars JaVale McGee in a Predator mask being, well, JaVale McGee. How can you not love JaVale? Dude's a keeper. Keep reading to see that clip and another by the Heat, featuring the Nuggets' former big, the coloring book known as Birdman, who leads his new team's inferior meme.

See, just like this, only different foothills.

Quick: If you were Colorado and you wanted to jump on the bandwagon of a nearly exhausted Internet phenomenon and, say, film a Harlem Shake video of your own with thousands of your closest friends (okay, maybe not thousands -- only 86 people have confirmed so far, while 52 are still on the fence), where would you go? I mean, what place just screams Colorado unlike anywhere else? If you said Red Rocks, pat yourself on the back. No surprise, then, that this Saturday, February 23, at 2 p.m., a local Harlem Shake shoot is planned. Clear your calendar. Wouldn't want to miss your chance to be among the last people on the planet to do the Shake and help this flickeringly relevant meme finally jump the shark.

Update: Oddly, we just learned that there's another completely separate Harlem Shake shoot being organized by an entirely different set of people that's slated for next weekend on Saturday, March 2 at 12 p.m. So if for whatever reason you can't make the one mentioned below, you'll have one more chance to be immortalized.

It's been almost a week now since the whole Harlem Shake phenomenon began to reach critical mass. Before shit got completely ridiculous and ubiquitous, Chris McGuire of Schlepp Films in New York made a video and posted it online. Sensing a viral trend taking shape, the filmmaker and his friends filmed a thirty-second clip of themselves spazzing out to the song. McGuire has since posted a new video on YouTube that he filmed earlier this week, featuring the varied reactions to the craze from actual Harlemites. We tracked McGuire down last night and asked him to share what he learned from the experience and how his perspective has changed as a result.
