Pitbull's 1stBank Center show canceled

​Pitbull was originally scheduled to bring his Mr. Worldwide's Carnaval Tour to the 1stBank Center in May, but had to postpone. The gig was rescheduled for this Thursday, July 22. But he won't be making that date either as the show has now evidently been canceled due to scheduling conflicts. Refunds are available at point of purchase.

KTCL announces lineup for its Big Gig in September

​In case you missed it, KTCL has announced the lineup for its annual Big Gig: The Smashing Pumpkins, Chevelle, Anberlin, Flobots, Darling Thieves, Tickle Me Pink and the Locals Only Stage, featuring a slew of local acts on the, well, fittingly dubbed Locals Only Stage. Tickets for the show, slated for Saturday, September 18 at Comfort Dental Amphitheater, on sale this Saturday, July 24. If you happen to be one, Area93 members are eligible to purchase pre-sale tix this Friday, July 23 at 10 a.m.

Local bands needed for Rock 'n' Roll Denver Marathon

​The first ever Rock 'n' Roll Denver Marathon and Half Marathon, slated to take place on Sunday, October 17, is going to have 26 bands playing at each mile along the 13.1-mile and 26.2-mile courses. So the folks at Competitor Group, who have launched other Rock 'n' Roll Marathons at cities around the country, are looking for some local talent to play to some 14,000 runners and spectators. U2 reschedules its prevously postponed Denver date, Rihanna cancels show this Thursday

​A few weeks before U2 was slated to come to the States for another leg of its 360° tour, Bono injured his back while preparing for the dates and had to have emergency surgery, which resulted in the postponement of a number of US dates, including the June 12 show at Invesco Field.

Live Nation sent word earlier today that the show has been rescheduled for Saturday, May 21 and all tickets from the previously scheduled show will be honored at the door. Refunds, if required, are available at point of purchase.

A number of dates on Rihanna's Last Girl on Earth tour, meanwhile, have been canceled reportedly due to scheduling conflicts, including her upcoming show with Ke$ha this Thursday, July 15 at Comfort Dental Amphitheatre. Rolling Stone magazine reports that the cancellations may have been due to soft sales. Refunds are available at point of purchase.

Crowded House, James, Nickelback shows annnounced

​Crowded House, whose new album Intriguer hits stores today, visits the Fillmore Auditorium on Thursday, September 9. Intriguer, the band's follow-up to 2007's Time on Earth, will also be released as a two-disc deluxe edition that includes a bonus DVD. Tickets ($39.50 advance, $45 day of show) go on sale Saturday, July 17 at 10 a.m.

Superstar DJ Keoki opens Club Exile

Superstar DJ Keoki, who's done his share of gigs in Denver, recently moved back from Los Angeles to Golden. With some help from his business partner John Bogard, he just opened Club Exile at 753 Santa Fe Drive. The space has been renovated, but as of right now, just the first level is open. Keoki plans to open the second level at some point with a rooftop for parties during the summer. Keoki, OhmStyles, and Dolly Madeline hold court on the gay-friendly Fetish Fridays, where club-goers can wear their favorite fetish gear. On Tuesdays, meanwhile, Keoki, LLbishop, Tharin Roberts and DJ smyl:e are slated to spin on Dirty Mutant Tuesdays.

Wovenhand's David Eugene Edwards interviewed for Czech radio

Between fronting 16 Horsepower and Wovenhand, David Eugene Edwards has spent a fair amount of time touring Europe. Before opening for Tool recently on seven dates, including Red Rocks last week, Wovenhand was in Europe once again, where Edwards was interviewed on Radio Waves in Prague, Czech Republic.
