At 3 p.m., seven days a week, the bar portion of McCormick's starts its happy hour -- offering the best $1.95 cheeseburger you'll ever find, as well as an assortment of other discount treats. The deal ends at 6 p.m., then begins again at 9.
There's just one drawback: You can't order the happy-hour menu on McCormick's patio, a long stretch of sidewalk that's cordoned off from the folks walking to Coors Field, skipping off to their next appointment, stumbling from other bars. But this spot in the heart of LoDo, tucked against the historic Oxford Hotel, is a wonder all its own, the ideal place to sit and enjoy the very lively scenery, a couple of greyhounds and a dozen oysters. Land, ho!
