For each restaurant closing, three openings
For all the restaurateurs closing their joints and blaming the economy (see: Via), three times as many seem to be opening -- this week, at least.
On Monday, it was Indulge Wine Bar, which will be serving up two dozen vintages by the glass; lunch and dinner tapas; desserts and live music in the unlikely location of Highlands Ranch -- 1601 Mayberry Drive, to be exact. But then, as owners Peter Fatianow and Delinda Romero point out, Indulge is the only wine bar within a fifteen-mile radius -- and fortunately, it's that far from William Wahl's Indulge French Bistro on West 38th Avenue, which opened ten months ago.
"Under trade names, there's nothing we can do," says Wahl. "It's very unfortunate. I hope people won't be confused."
The duplication of the La Sandia name is intentional: On Thursday, the second local outpost of Richard Sandoval's La Sandia Mexican Kitchen & Tequila Bar will open in the Vistas at Park Meadows, where the White Chocolate Grill debuted just last week. Also on Thursday, Zen Ultra Lounge and Organicity Restaurant will take over the former home of DC10, at 940 Lincoln Street.
