The Arvada Tavern is back in business
The building at 5707 Wadsworth Boulevard that houses the Arvada Tavern started out as a blacksmith shop, then got Arvada's first beer license after Prohibition, opening as the Dutch Inn in 1933, then turning into the Arvada Tavern.
But by last year, the watering hole had gotten a little too down and dirty, and the owners closed it for a major, three-month renovation. The new-and-improved Arvada Tavern just reopened two weeks ago, and new general manager Bruce Reinoehl says that everything has been changed.
"When I walked in the door before, I almost walked right back out," Reinoehl says. But now that he's redone the space with new paint, new floors, a new bar and five flatscreen TVs as well as a revamped lunch and dinner menu with burgers, burritos and sandwich, he thinks the space is destined to become a local favorite.
