Get on the Red Trolley for some free cereal
Carpenters, plumbers and electricians were in and out of the Red Trolley all day yesterday, setting up not only the cereal bar, but making some interior design changes and installing a new espresso machine to complement the Clover coffee machine.
Back to the Trolley. Rick Browne, director of operations, filled me in on more changes at this spot, which just opened last summer at 2639 West 32nd Avenue. "Our hours will be changing permanently starting this Saturday," he said. "We'll be opening at 8 a.m. and closing at 10 p.m. throughout the year. We'll be serving lunch as well."
As for the cereal bar, Browne added, "it's just kind of a fun thing to do. Some neighbors came in to try the cereal and a lot had a bowl of cereal with ice cream on it!"
The Red Trolley, whose root beer happy hour made Joel Warner very happy, has a Facebook group; if you join, you'll be rewarded with a coupon that gets you a free bottomless bowl of cereal.
I'll be bellying up to this bar on Saturday morning.
