Updated: Other stirring events, now that "Soup for the Soul" is cancelled

Categories: Culinary Events

Tonight's "Soup for the Soul" has just been cancelled. Twenty local food stalwarts -- Alto, Baur's, Bistro Vendome, Blue Point Bakery, Dazzle, Elway's (Cherry Creek), Fruition, Japon, Lola, Mel's, Oceanaire, the Palm, Panera Bread, Panzano, Pesce Fresco, Rioja, San Lorenzo, Steuben's, Table 6 and Vesta -- were to join in this ninth annual benefit for Porter Hospice and St. Anthony Hospice at the Sheraton Denver Downtown Hotel; the event will be rescheduled.

Still on (for now): From 6 to 8 p.m. tonight, the West End Tavern, at 926 Pearl Street in Boulder, and Liquor Mart will host the "Buffalo Trace Bourbon Bonanza," featuring four Buffalo Trace bourbons along with appetizers by chef Chris Blackwood. Tickets are $15; to get yours, call 303-444-3535 or go to www.thewestendtavern.com. And at 7 p.m. tonight, O's Steak and Seafood in the Westin Westminster will host a Buil & Gine Winery Dinner; chef Ian Kleinman will create five courses of molecular cuisine to be paired with wines by winemaker Xavier Buil. Tickets are $100 a person (all inclusive); for reservations, call 303-410-5024 -- and fast, because only forty seats are available.
