Fork the recession! Get out and eat!

Categories: Culinary Events

"Fork the recession!" That's the word from the Colorado Restaurant Association, which today will launch a campaign designed to make us forget the lousy economy and instead "feed the recovery" by dining out at one of Colorado's 10,500 eating establishments. For details, go to www.coloradorestaurant.com.

Get "Happy on the Hill" when the monthly celebration of Colfax Avenue lands at Twist & Shout, in the Lowenstein complex at 2508 East Colfax Avenue, from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. today. Expect free pizza (from Fat Sully's) and beverages, as well as plenty of Colfax camaraderie.

For more free love, head over to Tambien, at 250 Steele Street, for "Beyond Jose: An Evening of Free Tequila and Education for Women and the Men That Love Them." The festivities run from 7 to 9 p.m. (we hear that Channel 2 will be filming); for details, call 303-333-8262.

And up in Boulder tonight, Diane Mott Davidson will be reading from her latest book, Fatally Flaky, at 7:30 p.m. at the Boulder Bookstore, 1107 Pearl Street; for information, go to www.boulderbookstore.com.
