Free food and other delicious deals on Tax Day
In honor of putting another tax season behind us, many eateries are offering free and discounted deals. Here's a short list:
All Cinnnabon outlets will give away free, mini-cinnamon rolls from 5 to 8 pm., while Micky D's is offering free small hot McCafé or medium iced McCafé coffee all day. But not all McDonalds have the McCafes, so call ahead if you want one.
T.G.I. Friday's will give you a $5 gift card if you spend between $15 and $25 there today. A purchase of more than $25 will get you a $10 gift card.
If you eat at a participating Chick-fil-A restaurant on April 15, hold onto your receipt: If you return by April 30, you can get the same order, free, as part of the "Tax Relief Day Special."
If you're not there during happy hour, McCormick & Schmick's meals can get pricey, but today you can eat from McCormick's $10.40 menu. Diners will also receive a $10.40 "tax relief" gift certificate for a future meal.
Save 15 percent off your bill when you dine at P.F. Chang's.
And if you're holed up inside, still tallying your receipts and deductions, you can order up a large pizza with three free toppings for $10.40 from Papa John's (enter the promo code "1040").
Remember the reason behind for all this free stuff: You must file your taxes by midnight tonight.
