As reported here last month, Ryan Leinonen, the starting chef at Root Down, 1600 West 33rd Avenue, was uprooted on April 24, when owner Justin Cucci snipped his stem.

But chefs are survivors and Leinonen is no exception. He's landed the sous position at Colt & Gray, the farm-to-plate gastropub going in at 1553 Platte Street the first week in July. "I think Ryan will be a great fit, and he's really excited about the menu," says Nelson Perkins, Colt & Gray's owner.

That makes two of us. Do yourself a favor and check out the menu; just reading it is enough to make you hot and bothered.
