For two hours last Friday, I was happy, happy, happy. The reason for my happiness? Vesta Dipping Grill, more specifically, the happy hour at
Vesta Dipping Grill (1822 Blake Street), which runs Monday through Friday, from 5 to 6:30 p.m., and may very well be the happiest deal in Denver, if not for the $2 eats, which are excellent, then for the killer cocktails, many of them fashioned with Colorado liquids, that are priced at $7.
We stuffed ourselves with shrimp and scallop ceviche and Thai-chile tuna, and then turned our attention to alcoholic nectar, which is how
Westword drink of the week columnist Nancy Levine and I somehow managed to sample a half dozen cocktails -- everything from a fresh cherry mojito that I sucked down way too quickly to the blackberry sage smash made with Stranahan's Colorado Whiskey, fresh muddled blackberries and sage, a squirt of fresh lemon and simple syrup poured over ice.
It was essentially a porn parade of cocktails, the photos of which you can view after the jump.
