Downtown Littleton is high on sugar

 When it comes to sugar, downtown Littleton is on a high. On Main street alone, there's the relatively new Lola's Sugar Rush (2490 West Main Street), which would make Augustus Gloop go bat shit. The town's main drag also houses the Chocolate Therapist (2560 West Main Street), a confectionery run by Julie Perch, a Colorado-based author and chocolatier who  -- get this -- makes it her job to actually extol the health virtues of chocolate. Not sure how Perch feels about cakes and cookies, but just a few blocks down the street from her shop sits two vacated storefronts that will soon become Beautiful Sweets, a sugar shack at 2299 West Main Street that'll pimp baked goods, all-organic sugar cookies, sandwiches, coffee and gelato, says owner Laina Mickus, who plans to turn the two adjoining spaces into a commercial kitchen and retail space sometime in September.
