Steuben's high on Mile High Music Festival

Last year, Steuben's served over 2,000 burgers and sandwiches at the Mile High Music Festival, and it's signed on again for this year's fest July 18-19-- partnering with the Colorado Restaurant Association Education Foundation to raise money for young adults wanting to join the food-service and hospitality industry. CRAEF volunteers will help to prep Steuben's fare for the fest (Cubano sandwiches, hand-cut fries and burgers -- cheese and green chile optional), and also work at the booth during the festival; a portion of all sales will benefit CRAEF.

And that's just the start of Steuben's civic involvement this weekend, since it's also involved with the July 19 Taste of the Nation benefit, since Matt Selby, partner and founding chef at sibling restaurant Vesta Dipping Grill, is spearheading that effort.

"This weekend is kind of like the perfect storm," says Steuben's Emily Biederman, who just happens to be married to Steuben's chef Brandon Biederman, who will be leading the troops at Mile High. "We did it last year, so we know what we're in for."

And festival-goers should know that if they hit the Steuben's booth, they're going to get the best green chile cheeseburger in town. (And yes, the restaurant at 523 East 17th Avenue will also be serving all weekend.)
