Guess where I'm eating?

What I love most about Middle Eastern food is the way that you can shove a dozen different dishes onto the same plate, mix them all together, stack a big bite of everything on a fork and end up with the Gaza Strip, a flavor explosion of parsley, onions, roasted eggplant, garlic, lemon juice, pita, cracked wheat, olive oil, sumac, falafel, fava, rice...and on and on and on. It's one of the only cuisines I can think of where the more you jumble the parts, the better it all tastes.
It's also one of the few cuisines that manages to cook vegetarian food really, really well. Don't get me wrong: There's nothing I crave more than meat on a steak, but I also love lapping up hummus and baba ganoush, the crunch of falafel and the tartness of grape leaves. While there are a myriad of Mid East feast houses in Denver that cater to my sporadic vegetarian whims, one of them does it better than the rest.
