House now occupies the former home of Gemelli's.
Tennyson Street north of 38th Avenue is one of the city's five Denver Neighborhood Marketplace Initiative corridors, part of a Denver Office of Economic Development pilot program pushing business in these areas. And from 5 to 7:30 p.m. tonight, the OED will hold a reception at House, 4363 Tennyson Street, to celebrate the completion of the Tennyson Corridor District Development plan.

House is quite a development itself: This summer, what had been Gemelli's was transformed into House by former Gemelli's employees Dave Kauderer and Chris Colbea, as well as neighborhood vet Jeff Young. It's just the latest in a group of restaurants that have turned this stretch of Tennyson into a a real restaurant row, with eateries ranging from Brasserie Felix to Big Hoss Bar-B-Q (still closed because of a fire, but slated to reopen in ten days) to DJ's Berkeley Cafe to Kyle's Kitchen and now House.

As the OED and Tennyson residents plot their future, they'd be smart to recognize what these restaurants do to feed business in the neighborhood.
