Qdoba wants to know who's making a difference in your community

Know an everyday hero in your community?

Qdoba Mexican Grill is accepting nominations for its new online campaign geared toward recognizing the do-gooders in society, called Qmmunity. The campaign is a joint effort between the Denver-based Mexican restaurant chain and its national charity partner, Starlight Children's Foundation, which has helped children and teenagers with serious medical conditions and their families for 25 years.

From now until Sunday, November 1, people can log on to Qdoba's website and nominate a person who they feel works to improve the local community. Online campaigning -- shooting e-mails to Facebook, incessant tweeting -- is encouraged. Qdoba will donate a dollar to Starlight for every nomination, vote, nominee Tweet and public pledge posted on Facebook.

The five most-voted nominees will compete for the grand prize: $5,000 to the charity of their choice. In addition, a mobile entertainment lounge will be donated to a hospital in or near the victor's city of residence. The lounge, specifically designed for hospitalized children, will include a Wii, a DVD player and an LCD television. Cool.
