The Cru Wine Bar locations at 1442 Larimer Street (November 17) and 8433 Park Meadows Drive in Lone Tree (November 18) present a five-course dinner pairing Barolo wines with white truffles from Oregon, featuring guest speaker Daniel Kratzer. Wednesday, November 18:
Anthony Bourdain, star of No Reservations, stops at the Buell Theatre to share stories of his culinary adventures; tickets, $35-$60, are available at all Ticketmaster outlets.
Thursday, November 19:
Tony's Market, 950 Broadway, is serving up an Italian Family Dinner Night featuring crostine di salmone, melanzana alla parmigiana, rosbif in Barolo, insalata d'indivia and panna cotta con composta, plus suggested bottles of wine ranging from $22 to $25. The second annual Mile High United Way Emerging Leaders Wine Event benefits Mile High United Way. Bring three bottles of the same wine, brand and vintage, for other participants to taste in a blind test; teams will write down their favorite wines, and those who bought the favorite wine will take home everyone else's unopened bottles.
