A busy weekend for KJ's Coffee Bar

Categories: The Dish

Kenny and Kristin Johnson, the owners of KJ's Coffee Bar, have a date with the Denver Department of Excise and License at 1:30 p.m. today, a hearing where they'll ask that their liquor license be changed to a cabaret license, so that they can present live music on a regular basis and "don't have to fill out a special event permit every time a band wants to play or we have an open mic night," explains manager Kassia.

And KJ's doesn't just present local musicians. From 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. tomorrow, the Whittier neighborhood gathering place at 1710 East 25th Avenue will host its first holiday Art Show and Sale, featuring not just a variety of artwork by local artists, but the artists themselves.
