We'll drink to that: Colorado Bartenders Guild Toy Drive at Steuben's

Want to do some good while drinking great cocktails? On Monday, December 7, the Colorado Bartenders Guild (COBG) is sponsoring its fourth annual Holiday Toy Drive at Steuben's, 523 East 17th Avenue.

"We started out with two bartenders and me and convinced about twenty of our friends to come," recalls Sean Kenyon, who was involved from the beginning. "Last year we had way over a hundred people and we expect this year to be much larger." Some of Colorado's most famous -- and infamous bartenders -- have created signature cocktails for the evening; each one costs $10, and all proceeds and tips will go to the Salvation Army's Angel Tree.

And for every new, unwrapped gift for a child fourteen or under that you bring, you'll get a free cocktail from one of the cocktologists:

Sean Kenyon: Steuben's/Vesta Dipping Grill
Bryan Dayton: Frasca Food & Wine
Mike Henderson, Moe Elio: TAG
Anika Zappe, Jared Boller: Root Down
Randy Layman: Avenue Grill
Kevin Burke, Parker Ramey: Colt & Gray
Adam Hodak: Osteria Marco
Eric Dutton: Vesta
Johnny Miller: Elway's & The Thin Man
Nate Windham: The Office at Blondies, Colorado Springs
Mark Stoddard: Happy/Bitter Bar, Boulder
Leigh Jones: Jonesy's and the Horseshoe
Marcel Templet: Capital Grille
Robert Leavy: The Broadmoor, Colorado Springs
Jimmy Zanon, Sara Mercado: Lola

The festivities, which start at 8:30 p.m., also include a raffle for such items as a $300 gift certificate for a tattoo at Twisted Soul, a trip to San Francisco, an $800 bike and lots of restaurant gift cards. Prizes will be awarded for the best and worst holiday outfits, and there will be photos with Santa.

And as if that weren't enough, Steuben's will be providing appetizers. So even if you don't normally go out on Monday night, there's no excuse to miss this. C'mon, do it for the kids!
