A quiz that should suit you to a tea

To celebrate National Hot Tea month (which happens to be January), Celestial Seasonings created the PossibiliTEAS Facebook application, a quiz that benefits Conservation International's "Protect an Acre." For each person who takes the quiz, Celestial Seasonings is donating a dollar to the program; it takes $15 to save an acre of tropical forest.

"Overall, people-friendly business practices are very important to Celestial Seasonings as a brand," explains Tracie Lesser, spokeswoman for the Hain Celestial Group. "The company has been about all-natural teas and green business practices, and a green-focused charity is a good fit. Knowing that we as a brand support an environmentally conscious charity is important to our consumers."

The personality quiz matches you up with one of the Asian characters featured on the boxes for Celestial Seasoning's new Authentic Green Teas, including a peacock (which I got when I took the quiz) symbolizing "beauty" and a dragon that stands for "awakening."

And the quiz is reawakening people to Celestial Seasonings, the Boulder-based company that just celebrated its fortieth birthday. "Donating one dollar for everyone who took the quiz had a good viral component to it all," says Lesser. "Nearly 2,000 people have taken the quiz and 94 percent of the people have posted to their walls; that's very good word of mouth."

In fact, since the quiz debuted on January 5, "our fan base has grown several thousand," Lesser notes. "We are nearing about 6,000 fans."
