Dave Query and Jason Sheehan, so Happy together

•  All opposing the great Dave Query's overall and complete success regarding his restaurants is one who clearly has no basis of what true success is. Come to boulder. See all he has done. Taste his incredible fucking food. Take it in, then go on back to your cookies and milk in the basement and think about your opinions. Query has not only dominated a fantastic portion of the restaurant world here (alongside many other successful establishments and owners in boulder) but also contributed to many organizations and businesses of high stature, and has won the hearts of his community all around him. To conclude, one who has had the pleasure of working closely with such an amazing boss and extraordinary entrepreneur feels pretty territorial when some article-commenting adolescent bastards decide to get spicy, and call him out on a typo, as well as those who question his skills in the restaurant world. Because let me tell you.. you are a very rare species of pest. You come alongside Jason Sheehan in that aspect. Stood up against the enormous population who loves Query, you are easily forgotten and disregarded as someone who doesn't know what the fuck they are talking about.

So they won't mind if I go outside at last call and make a bunch of noise, and then when the neighbors complain, I can just say I thought it was a joke? Or maybe I as an adult am capable of understanding civilized social behavior and don't need a bar owner to tell me how to act. You also say I should "have some." Have some what? Jokes, rules, capital letters? I don't understand. Marg G (or Mar G): My sniping at your comment was good-natured and humorous, but I do believe that if you are going to participate in a written forum, you should at least attempt to use the language in a manner that helps other readers understand your meaning. After all, if we can't understand each other, how can we snipe at each other for our content instead of our grammar? The then/than comment was a little nit-picky, but in general blog commentary invites slapdash responses, so we as intelligent readers and writers should make every attempt to maintain a at least a minimal standard.

• I just got my daily ab workout in laughing at the above comments - read in descending order! I especially love all the grammatical and spelling errors in a comment decrying the very same thing!!

• Marg G, I may attack your grammar or your spelling, but I would never attack your Grammer; she's done nothing to deserve an attack. Nor would I poo poo on her, but I may pooh-pooh your ideas.

• I live for the day when individuals attack the substance of a statement; not the grammer. It only signals one's defeat to the principal point being made by the other. Dave runs restaurants, not an English class. Go after his labor cost but don't "poo poo" his grammer.

• "Your arrogance in questioning anyone else's opinion..." So it's arrogant to question someone else's opinion? Isn't that what you just did, Dave? Isn't it a food critic's job to question the state of food - up to and including opinions on award nominations? I think it's pretty arrogant to call out a food critic in another city instead of keeping your mind on your own empire of restaurants. I stopped going to Jax in Denver a long time ago because the food was frankly abominable. It used to be one of my favorite restaurants in town but after several disasterous meals (including one where I brought out-of-town guests), I decided that my money was better spent elsewhere. Big Red F has done some great things and I am still a big fan of Lola, but the Bitter Bar is just a little pretentious and full of itself. I appreciate the skill and artistry that goes into mixing a great cocktail, bu a list of rules at the beginning of the cocktail menu? Please.

• Thanks lo, I was totally not taking Dave seriously because of his misspelling/grammatical error. With your astute change I am so fired up about this situation now I might add a comment on the SW blog. The day has been saved!!

• I can understand Dave's frustration with Jason, but if he wants to be taken seriously, he should make sure that his grammar is correct before publishing a statement. i.e. The statement should say: "...understanding of distinct taste and correct balance THAN (not "then") your own, is amazing." After all, running a successful restaurant is all in the details, right?

• Dave, you rule. You and Jamey are killing it.

• Go Dave. Happy has evolved into an amazing restaurant. Everyone who has eaten there recently has raved about the fabulous food. And of course Bitter Bar continues to serve the best drinks in the state.

• Why doesnt Big Red F open more restaurants in the Denver Metro area? I like Lola and Jax but I think their Boulder restaurants are superior.
