Happy Hour Hunt: Limon

• To the Other Customer: Thanks for your feedback regarding the Limon happy hour review. We always love hearing from our readers. Fortunately (or unfortunately, depending on how you look at it), I believe that the person you thought was myself was someone else. The two times I ventured to Limon's happy hour, I was with coworker and sans laptop. Both times, there were at least two 'other customers' at the bar, and the bartender who was working while I reviewed Limon does not match the demographic you described in your comment. Even if I would have come alone and brought my office with me, I still would have written a similar review. While I agree very deeply with your comments regarding hospitality, I believe that addressing certain topics about one's personal life out loud within ear shot of customers who are not seeking to know that much about a stranger is unprofessional, period. While I have had positive experiences at Limon in the past, the happy hours I attended recently were substandard and disappointing. The food was lacking in quality and creativity, there were discrepancies in the service that were unforgivable, and the vibe was depressing. I'm afriad we'll have to agree to disagree. Kate Kennedy

• I was the "other customer" there that night during the review and I feel compelled to respond. I remember the night as a lady sat at the bar and ordered so very much food, had her laptop and phone going non-stop while there. Nothing rude, just constantly going. I am here in Denver on a ten-week culinary internship from the Midwest. Limon is the closes place to where I am living and the first place I stopped to have a pint after work. The first night I was there, the staff really welcomed me and made me feel at home, which was nice being all alone in a new city. I do admit, I stop there frequently now and have built a nice friendship with everybody there; however, I have also eaten there many times. The presentation of the food is quite beautiful and well thought out. I have ordered off the menu several times, from appetizers to main dishes to desserts and have never had a bad meal, ever. Each dish is so very flavorful and I can't wait to try something new when I can. If I wasn't pleased with the food, there are ample places close by that I could frequent, but so very happy with everything Limon as to offer. The atmosphere is nice and quite, which is perfect to unwind at the end of the day, or as I have noticed, a nice place to have dinner for two. As for the service, they have built a relationship with me as well as many other people that frequent the place, which I feel speaks volumes. There is a huge difference between service and hospitality, one of which will bring repeat customers. You were on your laptop and phone for sometime, so I believe the bartender was simply giving you your space, as she should while chatting with me about the day. If you would have closed your laptop and given less attention to your phone, you might have engaged in conversation and really enjoyed your experience a little more.

• Shame. I agree with BeenThere - this used to be a worthwhile place. In fact, I remember having some pretty creative and tasty cocktails there not too long ago and have recommended to food to out-of-towners.

• Sad. It started out so well, but that's how declining patronage snowballs; everyone stops caring and becomes just pissed off to be there, and the customers feel it.
