Nothing says Easter like free menudo at Phil's Place

We became a big fan of Junie Garcia's food when she manned the stove at the Bamboo Hut. Since 2002, she's been running the kitchen at Phil's Place, her son's saloon at 3463 Larimer Street, where she cooks up big pots of green chile, stuffs incredible burritos (including, on the new menu, Phil's Big Breakfast Burrito, which features ham, bacon and sausage) and turns out tender enchiladas every day but Monday.

And this Sunday, Phil's Place has a special treat: free menudo. That's with the purchase of an alcoholic beverage or meal -- but Phil's is also serving up a $2.99 breakfast on April 4. Kitchen opens at 7:30 that day, and the holiday decor is already in place, as you can see in the photo above.
