Rock Bottom rocks the 16th Street Mall

Rock Bottom was born in Colorado, and although it is now a nationwide chain, the spot on the 16th Street Mall has always offered its own beer, great food and pure Denver style.

Patio hours: 11 a.m. until last call at 1:15 a.m., depending on weather

Seats: 100

Smoking: Non-smoking

Specials: Beer of the day; Rock Bottom taps a new beer every other Thursday and offers free pints of that beer from 6 to 6:30 p.m.

Patio perks: Covered. Beginning June 4, Rock Bottom will offer a thirteen-week-long outdoor concert series called Music at the Bottom; it includes bands DJs, beer and drink specials at the outdoor bar, along with charity events. The Bald is Beautiful charity event takes place June 25.

Busiest time: Fridays and Saturdays all day and Thursday nights

Slowest time: Monday and Tuesday from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m.

Most memorable moment: One of my favorites is for the Bald is Beautiful event. This one lady came off the street and asked what we were doing, and we told her. She came back an hour later with about $300 worth of pledged money and then shaved her head, and she had a full head of hair. I thought that was pretty sweet.
