Update: 1:32 p.m.

Yard House spokeswoman Aurea Victoria confirms the location, saying "we are 99 percent through the process and it is very likely that we will be going in there. We just can't say 100 percent yet. We are very excited to be going to downtown Denver."

Once the deal to move in has been signed, Victoria says the restaurant should open later this year. Yard house founder Steele Platt began his career at the University of Denver's restaurant management program and was involved with the Kailua and Boilder Room restaurants and EFEX nightclub (now closed) in the 1980s before moving to California.

The California-based Yard House restaurant chain and beer emporium plans to open a new location at the Sheraton Denver Downtown Hotel, in the former Bravo Ristorante space at 1550 Court Place.

Known for its massive selection of microbrews on tap, an upscale menu and classic rock theme, Yard House has several dozen restaurants in ten states, including one at the Colorado Mills mall in Lakewood.

While the deal hasn't been sealed, a source at the Sheraton confirmed the news.

According to the company website, "each Yard House location features a transparent keg room containing more than 600 barrels, some 1,000 gallons of beer, and an endless fleet of tap handles - 100 to 250."
