What's the perfect Colorado cocktail?

Rich Grant, the beer-loving communications director for Visit Denver, is looking for the perfect Colorado cocktail. Denver already enjoys a reputation as the Napa of craft brewing -- but Grant thinks we could use an emblematic cocktail, too. Something he could pour out for visiting journalists to give them a taste of our city -- the mile-high equivalent of a Manhattan, or a Mint Julep, or a Hurricane,

My suggestion: The Mile High Plunge, a boilermaker made with Coors Light and Stranahan's Colorado Whiskey, which reminds us that "Great Minds Drink Alike."

Come up with a better idea, and I'll buy you a cocktail when Rich Grant get behind the bar at 5 p.m. tonight at the Denver Press Club, 1330 Glenarm Place.

Stranahans....two ice cubes.....skip the Coors altogether!
For real though, if you are going to do a Colorado boilermaker, how about going up and down the slope with Downslope Double-Diamond whiskey and Upslope Pale Ale.

Stranahan's Colorado Whiskey Rothman Orchard Apricot Liqueur Splash of 10 Year Tawny Port A few drops of pure cinnamon extract Shaken & garnished with a drunken apricot It was also featured in Cooking Light Magazine when they did a write on Denver this February
Shootin' Blanks - like an oyster shooter, but using raw thin slices of rocky mountain oysters and some stranahans to wash it all down.
I make a "Denver" 1 1/2 oz Stranahans Whiskey 1/2 oz Leopolds NY Apple Whiskey 1/2 oz sweet vermouth dash of Peychaud's Bitters small lemon zest Serve up My take on the Manhattan
When I was in Dubai the other week, I had a camel milk mojito and it was f-ing disgusting! Maybe for Denver, there can be a Cow Town Mojito (with cows milk, of course) to let others experience the horror I did.

With all the medical marijuana places cropping up, weed is becoming as emblematic of Colorado as the columbine flower or John Denver. I suggest a cocktail called - in honor of the folk singer - the Rocky Mountain High: a bong hit followed by a shot of Stranahan's. The truly daring could fill their bongs with craft beer instead of water; maybe Boulder Brewing Hazed & Infused.
ow ow ow! If you were going to serve the Stranahan's on the side, of course you'd serve it with Patty's Chile Beer from the Wynkoop. But I don't think you'd want to dilute the taste of either by dropping a shot of Stranahan's into Chile Beer, or any other microbrew. That's why I suggested Coors Light: no taste to dilute. What's your cocktail alternative?
Yeah of all the great beer in this state, let's use Coors Light in the next "perfect Colorado cocktail." Really? I think Wynkoop is renaming the chili beer as we speak!
