Highland Tap and Burger taking over Panaderia Guadalajara

According to the liquor-license notice shoehorned into the window at 2223 West 32nd Avenue, Kevin Eddy, president of the 32nd Avenue Group, is taking over the former Panaderia Guadalajara space, which closed May 24, and turning it into Highland Tap and Burger.

And according to the verbiage inked on the notice, the new joint, which sits next door to El Aztec Sol, the dirt cheap watering hole whose 200-plus tequila database is one of Denver's best, will undergo a major transformation, including extending the patio and bars and "bringing the kitchen up to code."

The liquor-license application, which was scheduled for a hearing at the Wellington Webb building on May 25, is still pending approval.
