Pinkberry's insanely popular fro-yo commands a huge downtown opening crowd

​By 3:30 p.m. yesterday afternoon, the Pinkberry faithful had descended upon 1600 Glenarm Street to score a free cup of fro-yo during a four-hour preview party that amounted to 1,800 mouths to feed. "It was pretty crazy," says local Pinkberry spokesperson Ellen Robinson. "A half hour before the doors opened at 4 p.m., the line was already wrapped around the block."

Which is reminiscent of the crowd swell that surmounted when Denver's first Pinkberry opened in late May at 1000 South Colorado Boulevard. And will, in all likelihood, be mimicked again when Pinkberry unleashes its next Colorado outpost. "We're working on some other locations in Colorado, but we don't have definitive details on exactly where just yet," says Robinson.

In the meantime, the downtown Pinkberry opens today, and while the lines are certain to be ridiculously long, if you join the queue now, you'll get inside just in time for half-price happy hour, which starts at 5 p.m. and includes discounts on all Pinkberry watermelon products.
