The last Purple Martini dries up, leaving a vacant spot in the Tabor Center

Back in May, we reported that the Purple Martini, the cocktail lounge in the Tabor Center, had been seized by the city for failing to pay taxes.

The place reopened for a few weeks, but early this month, it went dark for good.

Jet Entertainment had bought the Tabor Center Purple Martini, as well as a Purple Martini in the Denver Tech Center, from the original owners. (They kept a Purple Martini in Boulder, which subsequently closed.) Jet changed the DTC club to Jet South -- but that shut down last year.

A PR person for the Tabor Center didn't have an answer to the question of what might fill the vacancy left by the quickly exiting bar.
