Madison Street opens: See for yourself what all the talk is about
There's already been plenty of noise about Madison Street -- and the restaurant at 1222 Madison won't officially open its doors until 3:30 p.m. today.
Madison Street is the brainchild of Larimer Associates -- the group that also created Ernie's Bar and Pizza, LoHi SteakBar and Billy's Inn -- and Brian Sifferman, general manager at Larimer Square's Corridor 44. They spent considerable time discussing their plans with the neighborhood...but that didn't stop the talk.
After we reported that the Madison Street opening had been pushed back from late September to mid-October, a couple of Congress Park residents took the opportunity to sound off about their concerns in the comments section.
Joe Vostrejs, COO of Larimer Associates, debunked all the rumors, , including one that had the group telling Domino's to go -- when, he says, Larimer Associates actually wants Domino's to stay in the property that it now owns.
With its other projects in northwest Denver, Larimer Associates has shown itself to be a good neighbor; the restaurants fit in almost seamlessly. Congress Park residents will get a chance to see what the partners have done in their neighborhood today, when Madison Street finally opens.
