Neighborhood Flix space to become DenverFilmCenter

Those who are still missing Neighborhood Flix can take heart: Tavern Hospitality Group, which was going to turn the space in the Lowenstein project at 2510 East Colfax Avenue into the Tavern Congress Park, just signed an agreement with the Denver Film Society to lease the Neighborhood Flix space to the non-profit for its new DenverFilm Center.

"We had fully intended to move forward with our original approved plans, but as it happened, shortly before construction began, the Denver Film Society approached us about leasing the space," says THG's Helen Wood. "We share the same vision with the Film Society of wanting to be a part of the revitalization of Colfax and helping to make that area a cultural destination for Denver residents."

And so THG did the deal.

It's not like THG doesn't have plenty of other projects in the works. It's broken ground on a new Tavern that should open in Littleton in the spring of 2011, and it's scouting locations in Highland, too.

More details on the DenverFilmCenter deal should be coming in the next few days.
