Pulcinella Ristorante is reincarnated as a 7-Eleven

• 7-11 seems to be pushing out their locations despite the wishes of their new neighbors. Looking at the crime stats around their 18th & Arapahoe location it seems pretty clear that that store is the center of issues in that area. Other stores in Denver have the same issue- apparantly at least one here was closed following local's outcry of violence. <b>Johnny</b>: Maybe you could have Westword do a story on the history of 7-11 in Denver, the crime that seems to follow their locations and how their expansion plans are being received here in Denver? It would be a great investigation into how and why they are doing what they do to Denver.

• The residents of the Isbell Lofts building have repeatedly asked 7-Eleven to choose an alternate location. The high crime rates that seem to follow 7-Eleven stores have us concerned (see http://isbelldenver.wordpress.com). Despite the multiple requests 7-Eleven has refused to consider a better, more commercial location despite the opposition in the community. It's pretty clear 7-Eleven doesn't care about community; they just seem to care about whatever metrics they are trying to hit with this "every other block" mentality.

• This will be the second 7-11 on that block (there's one at 19th and Arapahoe), and is only 2 blocks from another new 7-11 at 18th and Blake. One wonders what foresight or lack thereof has triggered this sudden mushrooming of 7-11s.
