Stir Cooking School still waiting to get cooking

Stircookingschool.jpg
By now, Kate Hume thought she'd really be cooking at Stir, the recreational cooking school tucked into a storefront at 3215 Zuni Street. But then a city inspector didn't show the day before Thanksgiving, and so Stir didn't open this past weekend.

Last night, an "opening soon" sign was still in the window. The Iron Chef Media Battle event originally slated for today has been postponed until January 20, but Hume says she has high hopes that an inspection scheduled for this morning will result in Stir's getting the green light to open in plenty of time for an open house this Saturday.

In the meantime, you can get a taste for Stir in Hume's excellent blog on the Stir website and read more about the venture on this post by Lori Midson -- written when Hume thought she'd actually be open in time for Thanksgiving.
