Walter Bond puts his neck out for vegans

Walter Bond, aka ALF Lone Wolf
Going one better than wearing his heart on his animal-product-free sleeve, Walter Bond, the activist who yesterday pleaded guilty to torching the Sheepskin Factory on Colorado Boulevard this spring, rocked a major tattoo in his mug shot.

It might make you think he set the fire because he was peeved at the lack of vegan fare in the strip malls along Colorado Boulevard. But as he confessed in court: "I went to the Sheepskin Factory with intent to burn it to the ground...because they are an animal enterprise. I lit fire to the building."

Bond, who faces up to thirty years in prison, will be sentenced on February 11. In the meantime, he can enjoy that good vegan fare in the Denver County Jail.

And you can enjoy Food Ink, our slide show of restaurant workers' tattoos (if Bond gets assigned to the jail kitchen, he'll qualify for inclusion).
