Reader: Bag the obsession with Trader Joe's
Denver native Jonathan Shikes has been chasing after stories about Trader Joe's -- and specifically, why there isn't one in Colorado -- for years. Yesterday, he served up the top items selling at Trader Joe's stores in 2010, prompting this response from DenverScener:![]()
Bottom line is that TJ is a large corporate behemoth that keeps secretive business practices in regards to where their food is actually made. A lot of products come from China and big name brand food producers here in the U.S. which make the exact same products for the usual chain grocery stores- safeway, albertsons, etc. To top it off nothing there is actually fresh.Just another example of WW yearning for Denver to be like NYC or L.A.
