Yard House now open downtown with 110 different beers

The long-awaited Yard House opened this past weekend in the Sheraton hotel, bringing the well-recognized beer emporium into downtown Denver. It is the 29th location for the Long Beach, California-based chain founded by former Denverite Steele Platt.

Platt began his career at the University of Denver's restaurant management program and in the 1980s was involved with the Kailua and Boiler Room restaurants and EFEX nightclub, all in the Tivoli, before he moved to California.

Yard House offers an upscale menu and 110 different beers (130 tap handles total), most of which are craft beer selections. Although new Denver bars and restaurants have added upward of 150 new craft beer handles in 2010, Yard House significantly ups that game.

Yard House is in the 10,442-square-foot former Bravo Ristorante space at 1555 Court Place. It seats 415 inside, with an additional 48 seats on the patio. There is another Yard House at the Colorado Mills mall in Lakewood.
