Culinary calendar for the week ahead: Wine, pork and much more

The wine will be flowing this week, at events ranging from Grand Junction's VinCO 2011 to the Pinot Posse Tag Team Winemaker Dinner. But there's more on Colorado's culinary plate this week: everything from workshops, to dry-sausage and hog-slaughtering events. Here's a taste:

Monday, January 17:

Frasca Food & Wine, 1738 Pearl Street in Boulder, hosts its regular Monday Night Wine Dinner with Charles Lazarro presenting Rhone wines from the Kermit Lynch line. Admission is $45, not including wine pairings; call 303-442-6966 or visit www.frascafoodandwine.com.

Table 6, 609 Corona Street (303-831-8800, www.table6denver.com) and Fruition, 1313 East Sixth Avenue (303-831-1962, www.fruitionrestaurant.com), will host the Pinot Posse Tag Team Winemaker Dinner. The six-course dinner features eight wines from the Pinot Posse (winemakers/owners of Kosta Brown, AP Vin, Owen Roe, Keefer Ranch, Loring Wine Company, JK Carriere, Cargasacchi and August West). Dinner is $150, and reservations are required.
