Taco Bell giving away ten million free tacos on Facebook

Despite the lawsuit and counter-suit over allegations that Taco Bell's beef is really only 36 percent beef, the Mexican fast-food chain is feeling warm and toasty about its Facebook fans, so it's rewarding them. By giving away ten million free tacos.

"Throughout the beef class action lawsuit, the response and enthusiasm from our Facebook community has been overwhelmingly positive," said Greg Creed, Taco Bell's CEO, in a statement. "We found it only fitting to reward these 5.4 million fans and a friend with a free taco. It's our way of saying thanks for their loyalty and support."

Taco Bell also ran a slew of full-page ads in response to the charges, claiming that the taco filling is actually 88 percent beef, while the rest of the filler is a blend of spices and water. And the company says it will continue to run similar propaganda educational material until the lawsuit is over.

Whatever, free taco.

Ten million free tacos? That'll cost them almost *three pounds* of beef!
