Breckenridge scores with Ale House at Amato's.
Ale House at Amato's, the latest venture from the Breckenridge Brewing Company, opened at 11 a.m. today with a gorgeous view of the Platte Valley, the Denver skyline and the Rocky Mountains.

The highly anticipated LoHi-area beer bar and restaurant is located in the former Amato's statuary store, at the corner of Central and 16th streets, where it's serving a menu of upscale comfort foods and forty craft beers, including 35 from Colorado.

Breckenridge, which owns two other restaurant/bars in Denver, will spend the next few weeks working out the kinks before holding a grand opening for the Ale House in late April.

The Ale House has forty beers on tap, 35 of them from Colorado. Of those, fifteen are Breckenridge beers and another four come from the Wynkoop Brewing Company, which operates under a joint venture with Breck.

Local beer celebrity Lew Cady orders the first beer ever at the Ale House, a Breckenridge Avalanche -- and the second, a Wynkoop Rail Yard. Cady has a number of firsts at taverns and breweries around the Front Range.

The rooftop patio has sweeping views of the city and the mountains, not to mention the highway, and will likely be a summertime hot spot.

I have been to the Ale House several times trying to make it work.  The food is less then ok.  There is little to no taste to any of the food that they offer.  However, it was my most recent experiance with them that influenced me to write this review.  I was trying to plan an engagement party.  I loved their roof top deck so and thought it would be a great place to have the party.  The first time I called I was told that they do not hold parties on the roof top.  The second time I called to find out other places they have large parties they did say the roof top was available.  I asked for their catering manager to give me a call so we could discuss the options.  Along with the message I left all the information about the party.  I called for 5 days with no returned phone call even though I was told that Katie the manager was in.  On the 6th dayI called I was told she was out.  When she did call me back she asked for all the information I had already asked for.  Then in the snottiest attetude she informed me that the Ale House does not though parties on Friday or Sat night.  I was floored.  When I told her that her other staff and managers told me that they did she informed me that they were not intered.  I would not work with the Ale house for all the money in the world.  I also would not suggest their food.

DENVER, TERRIBLE. STAY AWAY. DONT WASTE YOUR MONEY. Went here this afternoon. COMPLETELY RACIST. Do not expect to be treated kindly at this place but do expect to be treated like shit by staff. I was asked to leave Amatos after being told i made comments that made him, (Mngr), feel uncomfortable. Couldnt tell me what i said that warranted removal, just told me not to worry because my friend had already paid my tab. Friend had no idea i was tossed out, till manager threw him out to. No BullShit, racist establishment.

You were probably drunk. Everything has to be about race doesn't it? Sorry, I don't know what race you are, but your actions probably dictated the results. "Man-up" and take some grammar leasons too.
