After ten months of renovation work -- while the store remained open -- King Soopers is about to officially unveil the new look of its location at Ninth and Corona. At 9 a.m. tomorrow, shoppers will be able to take part in the grand re-opening festivities, which include specials exclusive to this store.

According to store manager Lee Lucero, the new self-check-out lineup, customer service area and bakery department are what give this specific model, tucked onto a small footprint in Capitol Hill, a European grocery-style appearance.

It's a grocery store fit for a Queen! ;) Glad to have it return to a slightly less chaotic state now that the remodel is done.

Um, seriously? KS's in the burbs have also been getting similar remodels the past couple years, and new ones even longer ago.

So, apparently "European grocery-style appearance" translates to "windowless bunker"?

I love the Queen.I remember the remodel that was done in the early 80s.Now, if only Kroger would spin off King Soopers so it could be independent again.
