South Philly Cheese Steaks takes over the old Skew space

Those were the words of Ton Phairatphibon, the former owner of Skew, 2070 South University, who abruptly shuttered his restaurant last month after just thirty days in business. Phairatphibon, as you may recall, had accused some of his employees of organized crime, but, he swore, he'd recoup all that money and bring back an even better Skew -- just as soon as he was discharged from the "coo coo hospital."

But whatever delusions of grandeur Phairatphibon may have had about reopening Skew (at least in that location) are now blowing in the breeze, because there's a sign hanging from the rafters announcing a new tenant -- a tenant that hustles cheese steaks. South Philly Cheese Steak, which already has eight stores across Colorado, and whose owner, John Pinelli, is a Philly native, has already begun the takeover.
